News: Swedish Brand Ootly has Teamed up with the Yeo Hiap Seng
On March, 30th 2021; Swedish brand Oatly has teamed up with the Singaporean food and beverage company Yeo Hiap Seng. The reason behind this teamed up is to set up manufacturing facilities in Singapore. These companies investing $30 million for equipment and Ootly Tetra Pack will be produced in Yeo’s Senko way factory. This is the first time Ootly, which uses patented enzyme-treatment technology to create oat milk, and this will be produced outside the U.S. and Europe. This partnership aims to sell Ootly in Chinese markets, and slowly expand to cover more regions in Asia. Manufacturing activities will be overseen by Yeo's in Singapore, and production will begin in the middle of the year. Yeo is a household name in Indonesia, known for its conventional drinks and food products, and partnering with a globally recognized plant-based brand demonstrates that Asian customers are open to plant-based alternatives.
