Carbon Nanotubes or CNTs consists of rolled-up sheets in the form of cylindrical structure of carbon atoms. These structures can have single walled layer with diameter less than 1 nanometer (nm) or multi walled layer with diameter up to 100nm. These structures were discovered by Iijima around 1991 in carbon arc chambers. The carbon nanotubes have extraordinary properties like electrical conductivity, light weight, thermal conductivity and tensile strength because of the high forces between carbon atoms. These properties make CNTs highly attractive for various applications like electronics, optics, nanotechnology, material science and composite materials. For the production of Carbon Nanotubes various methods have been adopted by manufacturers such as combusted electrically using lasers, metals are being used as catalysts in the process and CNTs are developed in gaseous forms.
Carbon Nanotube Market: Global Size, Trends, Competitive, Historical & Forecast Analysis, 2021-2027- Advancement in Nano technology in terms of medicines, structures and electronics are key driving factors for the growth of Carbon Nanotube Market.
Top 5 Carbon Nanotube Companies List
Nano-C Inc. is a company that specializes in synthesizing and supplying functional nano-materials for any kind of business and institution. Founded in 2001, Nano-C has raised $5.5 million in private funding, as well as more than $3.5 million in grant funding, including $2.9 million through a three-year National Institute of Standards and Technology project awarded last fall.
